Dimitri B. Papadimitriou is president of the Levy Economics Institute of Bard College, executive vice president of Bard College, and the Jerome Levy Professor of Economics at Bard. He heads the Levy Institute's macroeconomic modeling team that studies and simulates the U.S. and world economies. His work on topics that include Federal Reserve policy, fiscal policy, financial structure and stability, employment growth, and Social Security reform have been published by — among others— Palgrave, Macmillan, Edward Elgar, and McGraw-Hill. He co-edited, with L. Randall Wray, the 2010 Elgar Companion To Hyman Minsky . He is a member of the editorial boards of Challenge and the Bulletin of Political Economy.
Papadimitriou has testified in committee hearings of the US Senate and of the House of Representatives, was vice-chairman of the Trade Deficit Review Commission of the U.S. Congress, and was a member of the Competitiveness Policy Council's Subcouncil on Capital Allocation.
